Sociotropic Leaders…

I saw leaders glowing with expansive happiness…

I saw leaders growing with appreciation…

I saw leaders thriving with unlimited credit…

I saw leaders rising and shining...

I saw the perfect façade of leadership excellence…

…Behind the scenes…

I saw them sinking in stress...

I saw them losing control…

I saw them feeling mentally foggy and disillusioned…

I saw them exhausting their team to keep their ‘over-promises’…

Their strong desire for external validation is their biggest disease…

They want to be liked, respected and valued…

They go above and beyond to please their top management….

They agree even when they disagree…

They end up losing clarity, vision and  self-esteem…

Eternal people pleasers with never-ending pursuit of approval.

Leaders with “People- pleasing” personality do exist and they can cause high level of anxiety and burnout.

If you find yourself dealing with one; set clear boundaries and communicate them upfront.

If you are pushed over the edge; time to have a constructive discussion at work. This is most probably the most challenging step but it is also the most important!

The first step towards change is awareness...

Stay happy and healthy…Always Unstoppable!

Hindy
