MenoLeaders

As a working mom entering a profound identity shift in no time…I feel the need to talk about this workplace stigma…

Most women start to notice perimenopause symptoms in their 40s. At this age, women are stepping into senior leadership roles while experiencing physical, mental and emotional symptoms. On top of all the challenges dealing with different needs, they go through an undiagnosed hormonal roller coaster with 0 empathy & support.

And the facts reveal a shocking lack of support:

In a survey conducted by Newson Health Research and the Fawcett society published in May 2022:

Over 1 billion women around the world would have experienced menopause by 2025.

84% of participating women said that menopausal symptoms interfered with their lives.

99% women report that peri/menopause had a negative impact on their work.

41% say they have seen menopause or menopause symptoms treated as a joke by people at work.

59% of women had taken time off work because of their symptoms. Among women who had taken time off due to menopause, 39% had cited anxiety or depression as the main reason on their sick note, rather than share their menopause status.

It’s time to create a truly inclusive culture at work!

Menopause is a life transition not a condition

It’s a completely natural and normal stage in life

Women need to feel that they are not alone & Business leaders must be proactive in understanding menopause in the workplace...

Less Stigma and More Empathy…That’s all we need!

Always Unstoppable!

Hindy
