I took my son to his vaccination appointment and while I was dealing with a fussy toddler, the perfect looking girl at the reception said:
“Ma’am, it’s beauty week!…We are offering discounts in all our anti-aging treatments. We can correct your fine lines (and she gracefully pointed to my forehead) with our derma fillers, skin boosters, hyaluronic acid shots, etc
I don’t blame her…
After all she is just doing her job…
We have been conditioned since birth with the belief that beauty is solely defined by external appearances…
But for the sake of our future generations…let’s stop this non sense!!
Even my kids know that aging is a natural and inevitable part of life...
In different circumstances, I would have answered…
Wrinkles are a testament to a life filled with laughter, joy, tears and countless expressions.
Each wrinkle you see in my forehead is a unique line that represents the chapters of my life…
Reflecting resilience, growth, failures and my personal journey…
It is my way of celebrating the beauty that comes with the passage of time and the wisdoms gained along the way…
It is my badge of honour for navigating all the challenges faced, the relationships nurtured, and the lessons learned thus far…
I will always be wearing my wrinkles proudly…
Because they are the testament to the incredible story I carry with me...
