"'Mommy-brain' refers to the forgetfulness and brain fog that some mothers experience after the birth of their children. Whether you call it mom brain, mommy brain, momnesia or baby brain, if you're a mother, you likely can relate."

Well, well, well...I am a mother and I don’t relate!
3 boys and more than 6 years of 'gray matter pruning'*, I can confidently say that what you call a
'mommy-brain’ or 'momnesia' is an indication that something greater is happening in our brains...
We've been looking at it in a wrong way. Neuroscience suggests that parenthood has a neuroprotective effect on the brain. The challenge of parenting is actually keeping our brains younger…Our so called degenrative ´mommy-brain’ restructures itself to be less affected by stress, more equipped and specialized. For at least 2 years, we go through an amazing phenomenon of ´gray matter shrinkage or pruning', we get rid of unnecessary connections to generate new meaningful ones..
We gain super powers in important areas of the brain...emotional regulation, resilience, motivation, social cognition, etc.
How do you explain our ability to keep track on multiple appointments, responsibilities and unpaid work on top of our paid work?
Our brains are not foggy at all!
We are built for change and a postive one!...
Let's stop lamenting our ´mommy- brains'
Time to shed the light on ' super-mommy brains'
Always Unstoppable!

*The period of pruning, in which the brain actually loses gray matter, is as important for brain development as is the period of growth synaptic pruning, the brain eliminates extra synapses.
